RULES & REGULATIONS

1. Definitions & primary concepts

1.1. The Club is owned by The Smallville Group, a private company incorporated in Lebanon.
1.2. Membership is specific to The Penthouse Club and does not grant ownership or voting rights in the club.
1.3. The club premises are located in Beirut on the 16th floor of the Smallville Hotel.
1.4. The club is open 24/7. The Pool is open 24/7 and bathrobes are available at the club.
1.5. Members are selected upon a set of criteria defined in the application form.

2. Membership

Full member criteria: Minimum age of 27 with identification card or passport.
 Approval & Election of Members
– Candidates complete an application form provided by the Membership team.
– A proposer and seconder, both club members, are required.
– The committee reviews applications within 48 hours.
– Candidates may meet with the membership team before the committee’s decision.
– Membership decisions are made by unanimous secret ballot.
– Non-elected candidates receive no reason for non-membership.
– Approved candidates receive a conditional membership offer from the Committee Chairman.
– The committee can extend the compliance period as needed.
– Upon compliance, the candidate becomes a member, agreeing to club rules and regulations.
– Members have a cancellation right, starting from the acceptance date.
– Cancellation requires written notice to the Committee Chairman or Membership team.
– Rules and regulations of the member’s club will be shared upon collection of the membership card from the club.

3. Renewals

3.1. Renewal dates are set on the first day of the membership election month each year.
3.2. Membership renewals require committee review and are not automatic.
3.3. Members receive one month’s notice before the renewal date.
3.4. A second member’s acceptance depends on the associated full member’s status and referral.
3.5. Members can freeze membership once a year with a written request within 30 days of renewal.
3.6. Terminated members can reapply within one year.
3.7. Reactivation after one year may require a new application.

4. Member's Addresses

4.1. Members must promptly notify the Membership team of address, email, or contact detail changes.
4.2. A new direct debit candidate must be completed if there is a change in bankers.
4.3. Residential address should match the majority of the year’s residence.

5. Admission

5.1. Members and invited guests have access to club areas 24 hours a day.
5.2. Sign-in at the front desk is mandatory, providing name, membership card, and guest names at The Penthouse entrance.
5.3. Individuals under 18 need written permission to enter, except on specific days and times with a full member parent or guardian.
5.4. Host members must accompany introduced guests throughout their stay.
5.5. Conduct of guests must adhere to club rules and regulations, and the privacy policy.
5.6. Certain days may restrict member admission, or the club may temporarily close for various reasons at its discretion.
5.7. The company or Committee Chairman reserves the right to refuse entry without explanation.
5.8. The Penthouse Club has a minimum age of 27, except at private events or when a legal guardian requests and it is reviewed and authorized by the Committee Chairman.
5.9. The club can refuse entry, remove members or guests, or revoke memberships at its discretion.

6. Conduct

6.1. Compliance with local laws, regulations, and club rules is mandatory.
6.2. Members and their guests must treat each other with respect and avoid behavior causing disrepute.
6.3. Clean and tidy attire according to the club’s smart casual and chic dress code is required. 
6.4. Drunkenness, offensive language, violence, or misconduct are strictly prohibited.
6.5. Unauthorized use of club branding for business purposes requires written approval.
6.6. Removal, damage or destruction of club or company property without permission results in full responsibility of compensation.

7. Conduct of Guests

7.1. Members introducing guests are responsible for their behavior and adherence to club rules.
7.2. Guests must leave when the host member does.

8. Member's Property

8.1. Property entrusted to club staff or left on premises is at the owner’s risk.
8.2. The club, company, and staff are not liable for loss, damage or consequential loss.

9. Complaints

9.1. All complaints must be submitted in writing to the Committee Chairman’s email: private@penthouseclublb.com
9.2. Members should not personally reprimand club staff, members, or guests. 

10. Exhibitions & Club events

10.1. Organized exhibitions or events grant privileges to exhibitors, accompanying persons, and invited guests.
10.2. Those admitted may not participate in club management.
10.3. Individuals admitted must follow club rules and regulations.
10.4. The event/exhibition must be sanctioned by the company or the Secretary.

11. Admission

11.1. Members and guests have access 24 hours a day.
11.2. The company may restrict admission on certain days for reasons such as holiday or private events.

12. Bookings

12.1. Table reservations are made through the reservations team on the following number: 70-995552.
12.2. Club events, private parties, and business event bookings require Committee Chairman coordination.
12.3. Advance payment is required for club events.
12.4. Event refunds follow the relevant contract.
12.5. Cancellations within 24 hours may incur a fee.

13. Cloakroom

  Coats, umbrellas, briefcases, parcels and bags are left in the cloakroom at the owner’s risk.

14. Corkage

  Corkage is prohibited in club restaurants and bars.             

15. Dress code

15.1. Members and guests must adhere to the club’s smart dress code.     

16. Guests

16.1. Minimum guest age is 27 unless accompanied and requested by a parent, legal guardian or a member.
16.2. Guest limits are up to 5 per member and apply unless pre-arranged with the Secretary.
16.3. Guests must remain with host members.
16.4. Privacy notice awareness is required.
16.5. Each guest is singed in by the host.
16.6. Guests must leave if the host doesn’t arrive.
16.7. Misbehavior may lead to guest ban.
16.8. Formerly expelled members and guests are not allowed.
16.9. Hotel residents must register guests at reception.

17. Hotel Room Keys

17.1. Members are entitled to hotel rewards program and get priority discounted rooms and other hotel outlets discounts as stated in the rewards card benefits.
17.2. Lost keys require identification for replacement.

18. Neighbors & Noise

18.1. Departure should be quiet and considerate.
18.2. Noise restrictions apply.
18.3. Balcony noise affecting neighbors is addressed.

19. Photography & Videography

19.1. Photography and videography are prohibited and require permission during special occasions only.
19.2. Respect for privacy is mandatory.
19.3. Use of photos/videos follows club rules and regulations.

20. Privacy

20.1. Respect for privacy and a ‘no press’ policy are required.
20.2. Identity confidentiality is maintained.
20.3. Security is available 24 hours at all entrances. 
20.4. Mobile phone and laptop privacy rules apply.

21. Smoking

21.1. Smoking areas are designated.
21.2. Cigars and e-cigarettes are allowed.
